    Information about:The long history of Black, Starr & Frost, one of America’s most venerable firms, can be traced back to the partnership of Frederick Marquand & Erastus Barton whose company, founded in 1810, was located near Maiden Lane in New York City. Like many growing companies at this time, they underwent a number of changes in partnership and associations in order to survive and to keep up with the demands of a growing public. In 1876, when Cortland Starr and Aaron Frost joined the firm, the name changed to Black Starr & Frost. From their fashionable new location at 251 Fifth Avenue, they produced an array of diamond jewels in the prevailing European style. During the early part of the 20th century, they produced some of their greatest designs
