Juli 1904 zu Schwerin .. Die Festwoche in Schwerin zur Feier des Einzuges Sr. Königlichen Hoheit des Grossherzogs Friedrich Franz IV. und seiner hohen Gemahlin Alexandra geb. Herzogin zu Braunschweig-Lüneburg. Die neue Grossherzogin trägt zum Einzug in ihre neue Heimat, die Großherzoglich Mecklenburgischen Hausschmuck, es handelt sich um ein Diamant Collier und das große Diamant Diadem sowie eine große Brosche mit Diamant-Anhänger, die wechselweise mit Amethyst, Smaragd oder einem Satz mit Saphiren bestückt werden kann. Bei den Saphiren, könnte es sich um das Geschenk der Eltern von Alexandra von Hannover-Cumberland, handeln, der in der Geschenkeliste wie folgt beschrieben wird: "Ein wundervoll schönes grosses Diadem, Court Brosche und Schnalle in Brillanten in welchem herrliche Saphire erglänzten, gespendet vom Herzog und der Herzogin von Cumberland-".

Ther cermony began by a chorale, after which the clergyman, Herr koch, gave an adress and the cermony ended with a second hymn. The bridal pair sat a part of the service on two chairs placed before the altar. The Princess Alexandra looke lovely in her beautiful bridal gown pf white peau de soie, with a long train, trimmed with a wide silk flounce, which ran from the waist to the hem. of the dress and then to the border of the train. On the left side was a spray of myrtle and on the right a lrage bouquet of orange blossom and myrthle. The bodice was made with very wide sleeves and draped with silk muslin and exquisite lace. Teh bridesmaids were the Duchess Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, the younger sister of the bridgroom, the Princess Olga of Cumberland, the Princess Thyra of Denmark and the little Princess Marie-Alexandra of Baden. On the conclusion of the service in the church the wedding party returned to the Schloss, the bridal pair driving in the first carriage. There was a family luncheon, followed by a Court of congratulation and soon after the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg- Schwerin and his bride left on their wedding tour. The gifts received by the Grand Duchess were of great beauty. The Duke and Duchess of Cumberland gave their daughter a diadem, brooch and buckle of diamonds and sapphires, most wonderfully beautiful stones, set in a highly artistic manner.Queen Marie of Hanover gave her grand daughter a diamond brooch.The King of Denmarks present was also a brooch of very large size, consisting of eight huge diamonds set round by lovely sapphires.King Edward sent a set of silver terrines. The trousseau of the grand Duchess included a dinner dress of white tulle entireley covered with silver leaves. There was also a silk alpaca which excited universal admiration. A third dress was trimmed with Richelieu embriedery and a cream-coloued silk was covered with beautiful lace. The Princess had a very large number of white gowns in her trouesseau, as well as a number of the useful tailormade dresses. The Duchess of Cumberland is famed for her exquisite taste and she has shown her talent in the careful trousseau tha she has provided for her daughter. The Duchess of Cumberland was gowned in a beautiful creation of exquisite white lace over mauve satin. Princess Max of Baden wore white lace over a lovely shade of pearl pink. the mother of the bridegroom the widowed Grand Duchess Anastasie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grand Duchess Anastasia Michailovna Romanov, wore a charming gown of painted sil muslin, the paintings beeing garlands of roses. The dress was draped with Mechlin lace. The bridesmaids were clothed in delightfully pretty gowns of white tulle and lace over pale blue. The Princess Christian of Denmark, the eldest sister of the bridegroom, wore a dress of wild muslin over a pale pin and green silk. The Princess Frederica of Hannover was entirely goned in white and only a few mauce orchids relieved the dress. The Duchess of Teck had a custume of neriwinkle and white foulard. The Duchess Johnn-Albrecht of Mecklenburg-Schwerin wore light green covered with white lace.
