Tochter Louise anlässlich ihrer Hochzeit mit John Campbell, Marquess von Lorne, des späteren Herzogs von Argyll, erhalten hat. Prinzessin Louise, Queen Victoria's 6. Kind geboren 1848, starb 1939 im Alter von 91 Jahren. Sie heiratete den Marquis von Lorne, den Erben des 8. Herzog von Argyll, er ging als Gouverneur-General nach Canada . Sie heiratete am 21. März 1871, drei Tage nach ihrem dreiundzwanzigsten Geburtstag in der St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Louise trug ein weißes Satin Hochzeitkleid, stark verziert mit nationalen und königliche Symbole, mit tiefen Volants, Streublumen verzieren die Spitze. Ihr schöner Spitzen Schleier wurde gehalten von zwei grosse Margariten aus Diamant als Haarschmuck , die von den Prinzen Arthur und Leopold und Prinzessin Beatrice überreicht waren, gearbeitet von Garrard. Die Daisy-Broschen sind jetzt im Besitz der Königlichen Hoheit Prinzessin Michael von Kent, deren Ehemann erhielt sie als Erbe von seiner Mutter Seine Königliche Hoheit Prinzessin Marina, vielleicht kamen sie von Prinzessin Louise als Geschenk. Die Margariten getragen von der Herzogin von Kent und Prinzessin Marie Christine >> Das Armband war ein Geschenk des Marquis von Lorne. Der Mittelpunkt konnte auch als Anhänter getragen werden. Das Ornament ist mit einem großen und feinen Saphir montiert, umgeben von Brillanten und Perlen und Perlmutt Tropfen; Prinzessin Louise trug diesen Anhänger an einer Diamant-Halskette am Tag ihrer Hochzeit gut sichtbar auf dem Hochzeits-Bild oben. Es wurde von Garrard hergestellt.. The Royal Wedding presents | Princess Louise of England |Duchess of Argyll Princess Louise, Queen Victoria’s 6th child who was born in 1848 and died in 1939 at the age of 91, married the Marquis of Lorne, the heir to the 8th Duke of Argyll, who went on to become the Governor-General of Canada. She married on 21 March 1871, three days after her twenty-third birthday at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, Louise wore a white satin wedding gown, heavily decorated with national and royal symbols, with deep flounces of flower-strewn Honiton lace. Her beautiful lace veil was held in place by two diamond daisy hair pins presented by Princes Arthur and Leopold and Princess Beatrice. They were supplied by Messrs. Garrard. The daisy brooches are now the property of HRH Princess Michael of Kent whose husband received them as a legacy from his mother HRH Princess Marina, who may have received them from Princess Louise as a gift. The centre could be worn as a beautiful pendant ornament, with a large and fine sapphire mounted with brilliants and pearls and pearl drop; Princess Louise wore this pendant on a diamond necklace on her wedding day as clearly seen in the wedding picture above. It was supplied by Messrs. Garrard. ......"Of all the colourful memories that I carry of my royal mistress, Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll, Queen Victoria’s most gifted daughter, there is one that stands out in highlights which the twenty years since I left her have not dimmed. We were at Windsor Castle for a banquet which her brother, King Edward, was giving in honour of King Manuel of Portugal. I had just finished dressing her for it and she was standing in front of her mirror in her cloth-of-gold gown with its long court train, and the sweeping lines accentuated her slenderness—slenderness that was rare in the royal family. There she stood in her glittering trappings, bejewelled from tip to toe, as the court insisted she should be for state functions; on her head her Russian tiara, a crescent of glistening stars; on her shoulders the royal insignia worn to honour visiting monarchs; from throat to waist, ablaze with diamonds; jewels on her wrists, on her shoes. She cast one disdainful glance at herself, threw out her arms and exclaimed in utter scorn: “See, I look just like a jewellry-shop window!” How the Duchess of Argyll hated jewels! The careless way she left them about almost drove me mad. I was always picking them up from the mantel or table where she had heedlessly tossed them and putting them under lock and key. Every piece of jewellry she owned was worth a king’s ransom; once lost, it could never be replaced; yet to her it was all just glittering trash. And no wonder! Worn in such profusion as queens and princesses wear them, precious gems lose their value; one grows satiated with them. For years after I left Kensington Palace I could not bear to look at a diamond. I dislike them to this day. Whenever we went from Kensington Palace, where Her Royal Highness lived, to Windsor for a court function, Scotland Yard sent a detective accompanied by an armed guard to carry her jewel trunk.
