Princess Astrid of Norway owned a bandeau, which is made of diamond wings. The delicate head ornament of two bird wings, reportedly belonged to Astrid's grandmother, Queen Maud and before could be owned by her grand grandmother Queen Alexandra.

Princess Astrid owns two diamond aigrettes that share the same base, which center are formed two open scrolls. On the left a close up of Princess Astrid's Ruby and Diamond Aigrette, wich is probaly a wedding gift to Queen Maud.

Which was listet in the marrige present list as:

A diamond ruby brooch from "Lady and gentlemen friends" (The TIMES) again figure in the collection this time for an ornament for the hair composed mainly of diamonds and uncut rubies - cabochons. (The Guardian)

Another heirloom of the Princess she wear it often and is pictured as a large ruby pendant on the right side:

The Pendant star ornamented with diamonds and with rubies of exceptionally dark tint from Miss Alice Rothschild. (Aberdeen Jounal) was also a wedding present to Queen Maud in 1896.

A lovely brooch of lilies of the valley, are often worne from Princess Astrid, the bouquet of the pretty flowers are with hanging pearls as buds, nothing is known about the spray, yet..

When Crown Princess Märtha died in 1954, the 22-year-old Princess Astrid assumed the role of First Lady. She also assumed responsibility for Crown Princess Märtha’s Memorial Fund, a duty which remains a key focus of her activities.

Princess Astrid also attended major celebrations around the country, either accompanying the King and Crown Prince or alone as the representative of the Royal Family. During official state visits and other events she acted as hostess for banquets held at the Royal Palace and Skaugum Estate. After the death of King Haakon, Princess Astrid accompanied King Olav on his consecration tours.

The Princess continued as First Lady until 1968, when then Crown Prince Harald married Miss Sonja Haraldsen.  

She married Johan Martin Ferner on 12 January 1961. Together they had five children: Cathrine, Benedikte, Alexander, Elisabeth, and Carl-Christian.
