The Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna in Exil, wearing some rare Rings on her hand. One is the
SUPERB BELLE ÉPOQUE SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING with an important sugarloaf sapphire.

The sapphire-ring which she propably sold in America, in exile, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna lived briefly in Bucharest and London before she settled in Paris in 1920. In the 1920s, she opened Kitmir, an embroidering fashion atelier that achieved some level of success. In 1923, she divorced her second husband and after selling Kitmir in 1928, she emigrated to the United States. ).

The sapphire, looks like an ring with an cabochon sapphire of 30.14 carats, old-cut diamonds, platinum, ring size 5 ¾, circa 1915.
Which is offered for auction by Christies in 2019.

The great-grandmother of Grand Duchess Marie Pavlovna was the Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna Konstantinovich of Russia, famous for her Romanov sapphire collection.

Grand Duchess Alexandra Georgievna of Russia (Russian: Алекса́ндра Гео́ргиевна; née Princess Alexandra of Greece and Denmark (Greek: Πριγκίπισσα Αλεξάνδρα της Ελλάδας και της Δανίας); 30 August 1870 – 24 September 1891) was the third child and firstborn daughter of King George I and Queen Olga of Greece, who herself was a daughter of a Russian grand duke, and was also a grandchild of Denmark's King Christian IX and Queen Louise. She was a sister to Constantine I of Greece, and thus aunt of three kings and two queens, Constantine's three sons, who all became kings of Greece, and two of his daughters, who were queens, of Romania and (titularly) Croatia, respectively. She was also first cousin of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, King George V of the United Kingdom, King Christian X of Denmark, and both King Haakon VII and Queen Maud of Norway.
