The third daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Coburg, was married on Monday April 20th 1896.
Her wedding dress was made of the new material moire velours in purest white, which dazzles with silvery gleams as the light touches it. The skirt has a long train, which is embroidered all round in a design of orange blossom and myrtle, carried out in silk and silver, and each little flower-group connected with chains of pearls several rows deep.The leaves are of silver frost-work. The bodice is pointed and outlined with a double row of pearls wreath on with silver.
In the front there are curving lines of pearls and silver and a berthe of white silk muslin, with embroidery in miniature sprys of orange blossom and myrtle all over it.
The sleeves are of snowy silk muslin wrought with pearls and silver in the bridal design of myrtle and orange-blossom.
The bride's ornaments were pearls and diamonds -probably a large necklace, and she wore a wreath of orange blossom and a tulle veil. There is a mantle of white moiré velours to match the dress and to be worn over th shawl in entering and leaving the German chapel, where at the celebaration of marriages, oddly enaugh, there are no bridesmaids.

a diamond and emerald brooch in the form of a true lover’s knot (from the Duke and Duchess of York, Princesses Victoria and Maud, and the Duke and Duchess of Fife );

two Indian shawls and a silver breakfast dish (from the Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha);
a silver bread basket (from the Duchess of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha);
two silver dishes (from the Crown Prince and Princess of Romania;
four silver fruit dishes (from the Duke and Duchess of Connaught);
an old crucifix of gold and pearls (from Cardinal Hohenlohe);
a silver tea set (from the Duke and Duchess of Teck);
a silver model of the garden house near Castle Rosenau meant to hold cigarettes (the Grand Ducal Court);
an Italian miniature painting in the form of a fan (from the Ladies and Gentlemen of the English Court);
a Rococo-style silver centerpiece consisting of two gold jardinières and a fruit bowl (from the town of Coburg);
a silver Rococo jardinière (from the girls and women of Coburg);
silver bowls (from Lord and Lady Wolseley);
a tortoiseshell and gold walking stick (from the Duchess of Agyll);
a gold-handled umbrella (Lady Randolph Churchill);
a fan with eagle’s feathers, tortoiseshell and diamonds (from Count Kodziebrodzki);
a little Rococo chest of drawers (from Freifrau von Starek);
a silver inkstand (from Lady Mary Fitzwilliam);
two sets of harnesses (from the citizens of Coburg);
- Princess May wrote to her mother-in-law, the Princess of Wales about the gifts the couple had received “Sandra is delighted with your & Papa’s present & will be most useful to them, they have very few presents, such a contrast to our mass .”
The pearl and diamond necklace with pear shaped pendants, in the blue velvet jewelcasket looks a like, not idendic, the Golet pearl necklace
