Diamant Fringe Tiara- Der Herzogin von Sachsen Coburg Gotha Grossfürstin Marie-Alexandrovna

Der Zar Alexander II. liess dieses imposante Diadem für seine einzige Tochter Grossfürstin Marie-Alexandrovna fertigen - es war dem traditionellen Hofdiadem, dem Koskoshnik nachgebildet und wirkte wie ein Glorienschein, es war Teil ihrer kaiserlichen Aussteuer, mit dem eine Romanov Grossfürstin ausgestattet wurde.

Das Diadem ist im Verlauf mit mit nach aussen grösser werdenden Diamanten eng besetzt und hat bei der Dimension sicher über 150 ct Diamanten. Die Wirkung, der Diamanten als Flash, muss bei Kerzenlicht unglaublich gewesen sein.
Das Strahlen Diadem der Herzogin, wurde auch von Ihrer Tochter Marie, Königin von Rumänien getragen. Das Gemälde rechts, zeigt sie mit dem Schmuck, ihren eigenen Schmuck hatte sie vor Ausbruch der Oktoberrevolution in der Russischen Staatsbank St Petersburg deponiert, das von den Bolschewiken unwiderbringlich beschlagnamt wurde.

Die Tiara ging aus dem Besitz der Grossfürstin an eine weitere Tochter, Beatrice Infantin von Spanien (oben in der linken Reihe, zweites Bild), verheiratet mit dem Herzog von Galleria, Sohn von Eulalia von Spanien, Baby Bee - Beatrice Infanta of Spain von der Familie genannt, verkaufte das Diadem an ihre Lieblings Nichte, Königin Marie von Jugoslawien,die eng verbunden waren, um mit dem Geld im spanischen Bürgerkrieg ein Haus zu kaufen um darin ein Hospital mit Ambulanz zu finanzieren.

"Mignon" Königin Marie von Yugoslavien die ganz unten links mit der Tiara fotografiert ist, hatte nun das Romanov Juwel der Grossmutter in Besitz, bis das Diadem am 21.July 1960 von Sothebys London für £ 10 800,-- an den Händler Levy-Cohen verkauft wurde,

Imperial Fringe Tiara of Marie Grand Duchess of Russia, Princess of Great Britain and Ireland, Duchess of Edinburgh and Duchess of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha

This antique diamond tiara was given by Tsar Alexander II to his daughter Marie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Duchess of Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha. Modeled on the traditional court diadem, the kokoshnik, it was part of her Imperial trousseau with which every Grand Duchess was equipped. It was part of her tremendous and important dowry.
Marie Alexandrovna lent the tiara to her daughter, Marie of Roumania. She was painted wearing the heirloom as shown on the left side, but did not ownded that koskoshnik.
The tiara was later given to Baby Bee - Beatrice (2nd in the row, above), the younger daughter of the Grand Duchess. Beatrice of Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha Princess of Edinburg. After her marriage with the Infante of Spain, the Duke of Galleria, she lived with him in Spain and wore the tiara at the coronation of her sister at Bucharest.
She sold the fringe tiara to her niece, Queen Marie of Yugoslavia, in order to buy a house and to build a hospital and outpatient clinic during the Spanish civil war.

The tiara was sold for £10 800 on 21 July 1960 at Sotheby's London (to the dealer Levy-Cohen), as part of a consignment of jewels which had been in the possession of Queen Marie of Yugoslavia which included an important pair of earring and an
eagle corsage ornament.

On the bottom of the gallery is a rare photo of the Queen of Yugoslavia, Marie or Mignon, pictured with the tiara.
