Großfürstin Marie, in der Familie Minnie genannt, hatte einen guten Kontakt zu Großfürstin Vera Romanov, Herzogin von Württemberg,der Schwester ihrer Mutter,Wera Konstantinowna Romanowa war Großfürstin von Russland und Adoptivtochter von König Karl I. von Württemberg und Königin Olga von Württemberg und lebte in Stuttgart, war auch immer wieder ein Anlaufpunkt in ihren Reisen.
Von Herzogin Vera, bekam sie im Jahr 1896, diesen Diamantschmuck "Convolvulus althaeoides Flora Graeca" eine natlürlliche Ackerwinde ganz in Diamanten,überreicht, den sie später in ihrem Jewelenalbum, wie oben zu sehen skizzierte. Vier trichterförmige Blüten in verschiedenen Gröpßen sowie mehrere Blätter und die Ranken winden sich naturalistisch auf ihrem Kleid.
Grand Duchess Marie, called Minnie in the family , had good contact with Grand Duchess Vera Romanov, Duchess of Württemberg, her mother's sister, Wera Konstantinowna Romanowa was Grand Duchess of Russia and the adopted daughter of King Charles I of Württemberg and Queen Olga of Württemberg and lived in Stuttgart, was always a point of contact in her travels.
In 1896, Duchess Vera gave her niece this diamond jewelery "Convolvulus althaeoides Flora Graeca", a natural bindweed or morning glory, made entirely of diamonds, which she later sketched in her jewel album, as shown above. Four funnel-shaped flowers of various sizes as well as several leaves and the tendrils wind naturally on her dress.
