The jewel album Grand Duchess Maria Georgievna of Russia
This sapphire and diamond brooch, was left from Queen Louise of Denmark to her son, the King of Greece. He present it to his daughter Princess Maria of Greece and Denmark,Grand Duchess Maria Georgievna of Russia.
Queen Olga is wearing the brooch in earlier years, this is one of the jewels of her greek royal family.
She got not large items from her parents, more small diamond pins or smaller brooches and some bracelets. There are no tiara from this family side given to her.
Princess Maria of Greece and Denmark (Greek: Μαρία) (Russian: Мария Георгиевна; 3 March [O.S. 20 February] 1876 – 14 December 1940) was a daughter of King George I of Greece and his wife Grand Duchess Olga Constantinovna of Russia. She was a sister of King Constantine I of Greece and a first cousin of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.
Born as a princess of Greece and Denmark, she was educated in Athens by private tutors. She married Grand Duke George Mikhailovich of Russia, her first cousin once removed, who courted her for five years.
