Double Clip Brooch with two large Sapphires Petochi|Emanuelle Dampierre Jaime de Bourbon Royal Wedding|Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain| Royal Jewel History
The pair of sapphire and diamond brooches with two large oval facetted, Sapphires are made by Petochi. They are probably from the italian Princely family Rispoli, the family of her mother. It was noted in the wedding gift a Sapphire and Diamond brooch from Princess Rispoli, the grandmother of Emanuella Dampierre.
Fratelli Petochi was established since 1884 by brothers Alessandro and Giuseppe Petochi in Rome. The brothers, recognized for their strong attention to craftsmanship, quality and discretion, were ultimately "discovered" in 1904 by Prince Alessandro Torlonia who invited them to take a salon space in the Palazzo Torlonia, a famed 16th-century townhouse in the heart of Rome. It was this move that sealed the company's fate to become jeweler to some of Europe's most noble and powerful families, such as the Borghese, the Colonna, the Odescalchi, the Pallavicini and the House of Savoy, who granted Fratelli Petochi a royal warrant.

Mlle de Dampierre received from the ex-king Alfonso a magnificent basket, the value of which was equal to that received by Infant Beatrice for her marriage.
We notice in particular a diadem, a very long pearl necklace, black pearls, sapphires, etc.The Sovereign of Spain appears radiant and younger than ever. Doria Emanuela de Dampierre is a hieratic and resplendent apparition which unites French grace with Italian gentleness.
The personal style, beautiful face is enhanced by the marvelous tiara of brilliants, a heritage of HM Queen Christine, given by the King of Spain to her son.
It is a great artist of French fashion who fixed the cloud im noticeable; of two bût fillorlnês gracefully retaining the veil of tullë on the brown nape. The huge, long, delaminated train, six meters, is supported by charming little girls in dresses.
In baskets of pale blue satin with Spanish-colored flowers in the hair. Behind, juts out on the arm of Princess Ruspoli, mother of the bride, very beautiful in her beige dress and her light hat, clear paradise, the Infant in full scarlet uniform of the Order of Calatrava, holding in his hand the cocked hat with white plumes. Her chest is studded with all the decorations imaginable, the Golden Toison, Necklace of Charles II whose blue ribbon bars the tunic, Cordon of Isabelle the Catholic, 4th Malta Cross; large English / Italian orders and Germans.
The procession lines up in the choir. The servants of the Ruspoli house, in the yellow livery embroidered with blue.

The marriage of the Infant don Jaime with Mlle de Dampierre Rome, March 2 - Rome is preparing to celebrate a new royal wedding. HRH the infant Don Jaime de Bourbon will marry tomorrow Monday March 4, at the church of Saint-Ignace, Miss Emmanuela de Dampierre, daughter of Count Roger de Dampierre and Donna Vittoria Ruspoli, Princess of Foggio-Suasa.
Yesterday evening, a first reception took place at the Ruspoli Palace, during which the gifts offered to the fiancés were admired. Splendid jewels shone with all their lights in three vitrines.
Among the precious stones, the part of the private inheritance, of Queen Marie-Christine, which King Alfonso XXII distributed among his five children, all visitors admired a diadem of brilliants set in an ancient setting in the shape of laurel leaves.
It looks a lot like the one received by the Infant Beatrice.
We also noticed a long necklace of large pearls so perfectly equal that we could imagine seeing the same stone repeated in three hundred copies and of an east pure as a dawn; - and again a necklace of black pearls from which Infanta Beatrice also received the
twin, a necklace of diamonds and sapphires of incomparable water, a Rivier of diamonds from Infanta Isabella, a pearl necklace, finally the
personal gift from SM Alphone XIII; a crystal diamond and sapphire brooch.All these wonders are enclosed in cases that bear the name of a great French jeweler.
Among the gifts offered by the family of the Ruspoli princes, we admire a marvelous episcopal cross which belonged to Pope Pius IX, and
containing a relic of the true Cross;
pearl rings, black and white pearl drop earrings, a diamond and sapphire brooch, a celetbra of onyx and sapphire, gift of Princess Vittoria Ruspoli.In the center of these ancient and modern gems that are unreal for the eyes, the engagement ring formed from a single velvety blue sapphire. -
Among the personal gifts of HRH the Infant Don Jaime, we see all that the most refined art can do in platinum, gold, tortoiseshell or galushat (stingray).
Part of the trousseau is on display:
linens finely embroidered in Palermo, adorned with two escutcheons with the three fleur-de-lis of the Bourbons and the three diamonds of the Dampierre, old armorial silverware, offered by Prince Eugenio and Princess Dora Ruspoli, a service of twenty-four silver-gilt cutlery with the arms of the Bourbons of Spain, offered by the grandees of Spain.
Yesterday evening, on the occasion of the wedding of their children, HM King Alfonso XIII, gave Vittoria Ruspoli, Princess of Pozzo Suasa, mother of the bride, and her grandmother, dowager princess of Poggio Suasa, born Curtis, have received at the Ruspoli Palace the aristocratic, diplomatic and artistic All-Rome.

It is a great artist of French fashion who fixed the cloud im noticeable; of two bûtfillorlnês gracefully retaining the 'veil' of tullë on
the brown nape. The immense lamé train, long, djx meters, is supported by charming little girls in pale blue satin basket dresses with Spanish-colored flowers in their hair.
The Sistine Chapel rise smoothly while the bride and groom ascend the altar, candles in hands, listening with meditation to the ritual words pronounced, according to the Spanish rite, by Cardinal Segura: During the mass, is the both wear the same symbolic pallium.
The songs of Don Perosi, after the hymns of Palestrinâ, are admirable ”At the end of the ceremony, His Exc. the former Archbishop of Toledo addresses a great speech to the bride and groom in Spanish. And it is to the accents of a nuptial march which seems to wind the twisted columns, the statues with exuberant movements and the balustrades in trompe-l'oeil with musical scrolls, that the bride and groom leave the church, while that a crowd of photographers awaits them outside and follows them 'to the Vatican where the Holy Father receives them for a brief audience, then to the Basilica of Saint Peter where Their Royal Highnesses go to kneel in front of the tomb of the Prince of Apostles .
King Alfonso XlII, the princely personalities and the other members of the family leave Saint Ignatius by a side door. -
An intimate lunch then reunites them with the Duke and Duchess of Segovia - (title of the Infant don Jaime and the new Infanta his wife) - at Dona Ruspoli's and her mother, the Princess of Poggio Suasa Tomorrow the young spouses will leave for Paris and, from there, will go to London, near HM Queen Victoria. • They will then make a splendid trip to Egypt and the Holy Land before settling in Rome, in the residence of HM Alphonso XIII.
During the ceremony, noticed among the brilliant and numerous attendance:
Miss M ... de Dampierre ,. who wore a blue Hawaii dress with gathers forming a yoke and interlocking the shoulder.
Mlle R. de Dampierre was also dressed in blue Hawaii: a very pretty dress draped in front with wide aprons with gathers at the waist and
very long sleeves.
Baroness Antoine de Dampierre had chosen a very elegant gray hawaiian dress with long flowing sleeves lined in purple, which
was perfectly complemented by a bouquet of violets placed there on the waist.
- To finish, let us quote again the dress of foam crepe, beige, of the countess Aymar de Dampierre, which complemented
a long scarf passing over the shoulder and returned to the waist, for a very successful effect. All these toilets were signed: Maggy Rouff. Let us add that the Countess Aymar de Dampierre wore a brown straw hat with two heads of ostrich plumes , one beige, the other brown, creations of Esther Meyer.Source:Archive Ursula Butschal;Salonblatt;Le Figaro;
