Princess Arthur left it to her cousin, and sister-in-law, Lady Patricia Ramsay, Princess Patricia of
Connaught . The diamond chain was sold at Christie's in 1974, in Lady Patricia's auction for £ 12480 and £ 10080*. It was described as an "Antique Diamond open oval and bar link necklace mounted in silver and gold and four antique bar link bracelets* mounted in silver and gold, to wear as long and short chain, and extension of the necklace. The centre of the diamond bracelet was originally set with a crown of diamonds between the dates 1837 * 1897, was probably later remade into a brooch. This was also sold at the auction as "Diamond-Set Diamond Jubilee Brooch, composed of a crown between the dates 1837 and 1897 " for £95.
The Duchess Alexandra, is pictured above with a diamond tiara of Imperial Russian design, the larger sections pave set in graduating sizes to the terminals, the alternating sections of smaller stones, the base comprising a single row of collect set diamonds. Princess Arthur of Connaught, 2nd Duchess of Fife, GCStJ was a granddaughter of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra and great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She was the daughter of the Princess Royal (Princess Louise) and the 1st Duke of Fife.
