Die Kronjuwelen des dänischen Königshauses

Das Diamantcollier gehört zu den dänischen Kronjuwelen und ist im Schloss Rosenborg ausgestellt, es hat eine bedeutende Grösse und wird erst durch die Gewichtsangaben der einzelnen Diamanten in der Proportion richtig bewusst.

Die 38 Diamanten, davon der Mittlere von 17 ct, der früher als Mittelstein in einem Ring gefasst war, der Ehering von Königin Caroline Mathilde einer geborene Prinzessin von Grossbritannien, übergeben von König Christian VII.

Dann die 7 Diamanttropfen als Anhänger, der Grösste von 19 Karat soll früher in einer Aigrette der dänischen Königinnen angebrachte gewesen sein.

Die meisten Diamanten stammen von Königin Sophie Magdalena, die sie der Krone als Basis für die Kronjuwelen gestiftet hat.

Einschliesslich der passenden Ohrringe, wurden 1840 von dem Juwelier Weishaupt 80 Diamanten für diesen Schmuck verwendet, die Zwischenteile an den Ösen eingeschlossen.

The diamond necklace belonging to the Danish crown jewels is exhibited at the Rosenborg Palace in Copenhagen.

The reviere consist 38 diamonds and 7 pear shaped diamonds as pendants.
The stones already belonged to the Danish royal family and they had been part of the other pieces of jewelry in the family.
The 17 carats square cut diamond in the middle of the necklace, once set in a ring, that was given as a wedding ring from King Christian VII to Queen Caroline Mathilde, born a Princess of Great Britain.

The pear shaped diamonds, the biggest in the middle is 19 carats, had all been used from queens in aigrettes in earlier days.
Most of the stones were given by Queen Sophie Magdalene to the crown and they are the basis in the Crown jewel collection. The necklace is made by the jewellers Weishaupt und Söhne in Hanau, Germany, in 1840 of total 80 diamonds includet the elements and has a matching set of earrings.

Their Majesties entered. The Queen looked dazzlingly brilliant. She wore all the crown jewels and had some splendid pearls on her neck. The King looked superb in his uniform. They were followed by the Princess Thyra (the young and sympathetic Princess with eyes like a gazelle), and the youngest son, Prince Valdemar.
