Kaiserin Eugenie - Flieder Broschen

Eugénie, die letzte Kaiserin der Franzosen, deren Leidenschaft für Juwelen legendär gewesen ist, hatte eine solch erlesene persönliche Sammlung, dass sie vielleicht nur noch von den privaten Juwelen-Kollektionen der letzten beiden Zarinnen übertroffen wurde. Diese zwei großen Blumen-Broschen erwarb Eugénie als Ihren privaten Besitz und waren sowohl als Dekoration an der Corsage, als auch als Schmuck ihm Haar zu tragen.   Brosche -Der Mellerio Flieder Zweig von 1862 Die älteste, noch in Paris ansässige Juweliersdynastie, das Haus Mellerio dits Meller fertigte um 1862 diesen naturalistischen Fliederzweig, der nahezu perfekt seinem Original gleicht. Die Blüten sind in Email ausgeführt und geben sämtliche „Nuancen“ der Fliederfarbe in ihren unterschiedlichen Stadien des Aufblühens wieder. Die Blütenkelche sind zusätzlich mit einzelnen Diamanten besetzt, sogar an Tautropfen, die sich in den Blüten sammeln hatte man gedacht und sie mit eingeschliffenen Mondstein-Cabochons ausgeführt. Die Blätter dagegen sind in grün auf goldenem Grund emailliert, ein Blatt ist gänzlich mit Diamanten ausgefasst, nur die Blattadern sind in Gold zu erkennen, der Stängel ist ebenfalls aus Gold. Der Fliederzweig hat einen unglaublichen Effekt, man glaubt fast den Duft des Flieders riechen zu können, so perfekt ist dieses Schmuckstück ausgeführt. Die Brosche wurde bereits mehrfach ausgestellt. Das erste Mal 1862 im Rahmen dieser Ausstellung, das auf einer Radierung von J.B. Waring festgehalten wurde, die letzte Ausstellung mit dieser Brosche war im Jahr 2001 bei Wartski Ltd. in London.  Der Rouvenat-Zweig von 1867 Einen weiteren Fliederzweig erwarb die Kaiserin 1867, fünf Jahre später anlässlich einer Ausstellung und zahlte dafür 25,000 Francs. Diese Brosche, ist nun ausschließlich mit Diamanten besetzt worden und hat eine Länge von 14 cm. Der Goldschmied des Hauses Léon Rouvenat verwendete dafür ver schwenderisch 410 Diamanten und 1.025 Diamantrosen von insgesamt 64 1/2 Karat. Die Stängel und Zweige, welche die Blütentrauben stützen, wurden in einer Stärke und Flexibilität ausgeführt, wie sie auch in der Natur vorkommen. Der schwingende Effekt wird erreicht, indem man flachgedrücktes Goldgewinde verwendete, das in der Form einer Biegefeder verdreht wurde und so die erforderliche Spannung erzeugt. Vever, Wartski Ltd..   Empress Eugénie -Imperial Jewels |Lilac Brooches Eugénie, the last Empress of France, whose passion for jewellery was legendary, had such an exquisite collection, which was only surpassed by each of both of the last Empresses of Russia. These two large flower brooches were purchased by the Empress as a personal possession and could be used as a stomacher or as a hair ornament.   The Mellerio dits Meller Lilac Spray of 1862| Historic Jewel The oldest surviving company of the jewellery business in Paris, the house of Mellerio dits Meller has created in 1862 this absolutely naturalistic lilac spray. The blossoms are made of enamel and are representing the varios stages of blossoming. The flower clusters are made of enamel and are representing the various stages of blossoming, every nuance of colour intensity is recorded. The leaves are enameled in green and one leave is totally set in diamonds. This superb spray is made so naturalistic that someone can get the illusion of the perfume of the lilac. The spray was exhibited for the first time at the International Exhibition in 1862 and was reproduced with other examples of Mellerio’s work by J.B. Waring. The last time when the brooch was shown, was in 2001 by Wartski Ltd. in London.   The Rouvenat Lilac Spray of 1867 The second spray was purchased by the Empress five years later in 1867 at the occasion of an exhibition for a sum of 25.000 Francs and is entirely set with diamonds and has a length of about 14 cm. The craftsman of the house of Léon Rouvenat has used 410 brilliant-cut diamonds and 1.25 rose-cut diamonds with a total weight of 64 ½ cts. "The stems supporting the flower clusters were given the thickness and flexibility found in nature by using flattened gold thread twisted in the shape of a spiral spring; this provides them with the required gracefulness and also strengthens them."
