Das Diadem mit Intaglio Cameos, blauem Agat auch Nicolos, genannt, wurde ursprünglich für
Königin Karoline von Neapel, einer Schwester Napoleons gefertigt.
Oben im Bild sieht man ein Gemälde die Königin trägt eine weitere Parure ihrer Kameen.
Ein wichtiges Juwel aus der Zeit von Napoleon I., ein Bandeau mit neun ovalen Intaglios ehemals aus dem Besitz der Königin von Neapel, Caroline Murat, die Schwester von Napoleon Bonaparte.
Wie Kaiserin Josephine, hatte sie eine Leidenschaft für Kameen und bestellte von den neopolitanischen Edelstein-Graveuren Teresa Talani und Filippo Rega.
Amn ihrem Handgelenk sieht man ein Armband, das evtl zu diesen Nikolos, gehörte, das als Diadem und Halskette zu tragen war.
Jeder "Nicolo intaglio" ist im napoleonischen Stil gefasst und in einen doppelten Rand aus Gold, eingerahmt von einer Perlenreihe und zwischen Perlenclustern.
Die Intaglios repräsentieren von links nach rechts im Verlauf: Cupid Brennen Psyche in der Gestalt eines Schmetterlings, Omphale Carring der Club von Hercules, Bondus Eventus mit einer Cornopia, Amor mit seinem Bogen und Pfeil, die jungen Hercules nach rechts im Profil nach dem alten Edelstein unterzeichnet GNAIOS Ein Porträt einer römischen, Venus, die sich für das Bad auszieht, Cupid, der die Pfeilschärfe prüft und Cupid, die Psyche mit einer Peitsche züchtigt.
An important jewel of the time of Napoleon I., a bandeau with nine oval intaglios are onced owned by the Queen of Naples, Caroline Murat, the sister of Napoleon Bonaparte. She is pictured with another suite of her famous cameos, which are also with calcedons and bordered with diamonds. Like the empress Josephine, she had a passion for cameos and ordered from the Neopolitan gem engravers Teresa Talani and Filippo Rega.
But one on her wrist looks a like the nicolos which there was a tiara and wearable as necklace. Each nicolo intaglio is set in the Napoleonic style - and framed in double borders of milled gold sourround by a row of pearls with pearl clusters between.
The intaglios represent from left to right cupid burning Psyche in the guise of a butterfly, Omphale carring the club of Hercules, Bondus Eventus holding a cornopia, cupid with his bow and arrow, the young Hercules facing right in profile after the ancient gem signed GNAIOS a portrait of a Roman, Venus undressing for the bath, Cupid testing the sharpness of the arrow and Cupid chastising Psyche with a whip.
It was acquired by Francis Russell, 7th Duke of Bedford, for his wife Anna-Maria, trough the agency of a mutual friend, the Comte de Flahaut, former aide de camp to Joachim Murat.
It was in the possession of the Bedford family until its sale to Japan and it's now in the Museum in Paris.
