Among the gifts, especially the gift of the Duke and the Duchess of Cumberland, the parents of the bride, falls in the eye. She is a diamond necklace made of bows and ribbon, English facon formed and a matching brooch, which represents a large bow loop of diamonds, which is pictured by the Princess Marie Louise. The sketch of Köchert is in the archive a fashionable "collier de chien" a neckace in "English facon". See above on the left side. The bow knot is also from Köchert.
The Duke of Cumberland became one of Köchert's best customers. He had come to Vienna after he was banished from Hanover by the Prussians. When eventually, a political reconcilliation came about, the Duke regained access to hie enormous fortunes - the Guelph riches - and it was then that he entrusted the firm with the task of inspecting his treasures and putting them in order.
Some of the older pieces of jewellery he exchanged for new ones.
