Boucheron Laurel Wreath Necklace
This laurel wreath necklace of diamonds was a wedding present from Queen Sophia of Sweden to the bride of her grandson, Princess Margaret of Connaught on her wedding day.
Princess "Margareta" and Crown Prince Gustaf VI Adolf married on 15 June 1905.
The jewel is made by Boucheron, Paris in silver with gold and diamonds and wearable as a tiara or as an necklace.
The tiara was left by CP Margaret to Prince Bertil and is now Princess Lilian's personal property, it was regularly seen on her at events like the Nobel gala at Stockholm. The first time it was shown on a rather important occasion for the then Lilian Craig was when she attended King Gustaf VI Adolf's 90th birthday celebration in 1972. It was her very public official acceptance at the Swedish court and by the old King as Prince Bertil’s partner.

Collier von der Großmutter ihres zukünftigen Mannes, Königin
Sophia von Schweden, 1905 zur Hochzeit. Es ist von Boucheron Paris
gefertigt aus Silber und Gold mit Diamanten. Das Collier lässt
sich durch mehrere versteckte Mechaniken, mit Schnäpper, auseinandernehmen
und auf einem Rahmen als Diadem tragen. Das Bild zeigt ein fast identisches
Exemplar von 1887 sowie den Entwurf aus dem Archiv von Boucheron.

oben im Bild mit dem Schmuck als Collier, vermachte den Schmuck ihrem
Sohn Prinz Bertil von Schweden, jetzt ist er im Besitz seiner Frau
Prinzessin Lilian,
die das Diadem häufig trug.
