The Princess Royal's Emeralds - The Royal Navy Negligé and the Yorkshire County BroochIn this 1933 portrait, the Princess Royal is wearing three of her wedding presents.

Suspended from two diamond chains are the diamond
and emerald clusters composing the negligé which was the gift
of the Royal Navy. Carried out by Carrington.
Centred above it is the diamond and emerald
cluster brooch/pendant which was the gift of the County of Yorkshire.All ranks contributed to the gift which was purchased
from Messrs. Garrard
The square emeralds to the left and right of the central
emerald were the emerald clusters from the Royal Navy's gift with
the stones weighing 8.84 and 6.48 carats respectively.

In the 1970 sale the emerald and diamond brooch on her right shoulder
"composed of a square cut emerald held by rose diamond claws
which forms the centre of a diamond leaf panel of lozenge-shaped outline,
flanked on each side by two smaller square-cut emeralds with rose
diamond claws held in collet and leaf scroll frames" realized
£7500. The emerald diamond bracelet in the small picture to the right is another emerald jewel of the Princess Royal, composed of a rectangular emerald in a border of eight diamond leaves which forms the centre of the graduated drop-shaped link bracelet composed of pear-shaped emeralds in diamond single-row open frames, the centre cluster forms the clasp. Sold at auction in 1970 for £5200.

Brosche darüber (im Foto), hat sie von der Grafschaft Yorkshire
bekommen. Die Brosche wurde auch von Messrs. Garrard erworben.
