"Notably beautiful is the gift of Lord Inchcape. It is a suburb tiara in Russian form, with graduated, upstanding points rising high in the centre, together with a diamond necklet of very large stones, all being of that perfect water that can be associated with the days of India's great collectors who amassed such treasures as the Koh-i-Nor itself."
Diamond fringe tiara, composed of fifty-one graduated diamond spikes
each intersected by a smaller graduated diamond collet spike, mounted
on a graduated cushion-cut diamond collet single-line base. She received
this fringe tiara as a wedding gift from Lord and Lady Inchcape.
The tiara is detachable from its frame for use as a necklace. It
sold for $19 600 at the 1966 Christie's auction. Later it was in the
possession of the Dukes of Westminster.
The second present of Lord and Lady Inchcape, a diamond collet necklace, composed of thirty-eight graduated brilliant-cut diamonds with safety
chain, this was one of her favourite jewels. The Princess Royal wore
it frequently. The necklace was sold for $35 000 at the same auction
as the tiara.
