Diamant und Perlen Schmuck | Königin Maxima der Niederlande

Queen Anna Pavlovna Pearl Drop Tiara and Queen Sophie's Diamond Stomacher| Royal Jewel History Netherlands

Wert 9.500,--

Wilhelm III. (Niederlande)
Alexander Paul Friedrich Ludwig von Oranien-Nassau (* 19. Februar 1817 in Brüssel; † 23.

Wilhelm Nikolaus Alexander Friedrich Karl Heinrich (1840-1879)
Wilhelm Friedrich Moritz Alexander Heinrich Karl (1843-1850)
Wilhelm Alexander Karl Heinrich Friedrich (1851-1884)

Queen Anna Pavlovna Pearl Drop Tiara and Queen Sophie's Diamond Stomacher| Royal Jewel History Netherlands

Queen Maxima is wearing the large diamond-pearl devant de corsage of Queen Sophie of the Netherlands, above a wonderful picture of the Queen, wife of King William III. Queen Beatrix like to wear another version of this brooch, she changed the large pendants with pearls for pear-shaped diamonds......

King William III (Alexander) (February 17, 1817 – November 23, 1890) was King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg (1849–1890).

William was born in Brussels as son of William II of the Netherlands and Queen Anna, sister of Tsar Alexander I of Russia.

He married Sophie, daughter of King William I of Württemberg, in 1839. This marriage was unhappy and was characterized by struggles about their children. Sophie was a liberal intellectual, hating everything leaning toward dictatorship, such as the army. William was simpler, more conservative, and loved the military.

In 1877 Sophie died and years of war in the palace came to an end. In 1879 William decided to marry Princess Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont, a small German principality. Emma had a relieving influence on William's capricious personality and the marriage was extremely happy.

The Pavlovnik pearl tiara, because Anna Pavlovna, the Queen Consort of Willem II of the Netherlands, once had a similar tiara.

The current Antique Pearl Tiara, which was made in 1900, was designed to look a like the shape of the original Pavlovnik pearl tiara.

There are seven, large pear-shaped pearls that setted upright in the tiara - four of which are said to be older than any other piece in the Dutch collection. The largest pearl is extremely rare, weighing about 41 grains (2.6g).  These are from the possession of Countess Amalia of Solms-Braunfels (1602 – 1675)she was Princess of Orange by marriage to Frederick Henry, Prince of Orange.

Originally worn by Queen Wilhelmina, the tiara has been worn by all Dutch Queens and Queens Consorts, as well as from the princesses in the Netherlands.

Queen Máxima paired the tiara with long diamond and pearl drop earrings.
