Turquoise Jewelry of the Belgian royal house
The Turquoises are a wedding present:The necklace that the Wittelsbach Princeregent intended for the bride Duchess Elisabeth in Bayern, is particularly graceful and elegant. Persian turquoises of deep sky blue, high arched and large, seven in number, are strung together, connected by sparkling diamond tendrils, between which nine almond-shaped turquoises hang down like a drop, the whole thing as sensual as it is precious.
Later, the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium wore it as diamond turquoise tiara, made in 1909 from Cartier, matching her Turquoise and Diamond earpendants and large Turquoise and Diamond Cluster Brooch.
