Princess Isabella's Diadem The Turquoise Flower Tiara| Royal Jewels History Denmark
Princess Isabella of Denmark, carries a diadem with turquoises and diamonds, which is a gift from H.M. Queen Margrethe on the occasion of Princess Isabella's 18th birthday on 21 April 2025. The diadem is a so-called "bandeau," a headband in French, as the relatively narrow diadem is intended to be worn almost horizontally as a jewelry tape in the hair. The diadem is made of gold and adorned with 11 rosettes of marguerite-like flowers in decreasing sizes, made of turquoise and diamonds. The diadem was manufactured in the late 1800s and has belonged to Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden. After her untimely death in 1920, the daughter, Princess Ingrid, got the diadem as a confirmation gift and brought it to Denmark by her marriage to the later King Frederik. The Turquoise Daisy Bandeau Tiara was the 18th birthday gift from Queen Margrethe. Like many other Royal Family jewelry, the antique Turquoise Daisy Tiara has several functions, as it can be disassembled and used as a bracelet. Princess Isabella carries a frame with a painted portrait of her father, the King. The frame is in gold surrounded by 12 white pearls and 12 small diamond crosses with reference to the Order of the Dannebrog. The frame belonged to HM the Queen, who received it after her wedding in 2004. The portrait, painted by the English miniature painter Tom Mulliner, is done in watercolour on a thin slice of mammoth tusk.
The turquoise earrings pendants are that which the Queen Margarethe gifted to her daughter-in-law Queen Mary on the occassion of her 50th birthday. This turquoise-set is believed to have belonged to Empress Ekaterina II of Russia (aka Catherine the Great) and has passed down through Queen Ingrid’s mother, Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden. Margareta’s mother, the Duchess of Connaught, was the granddaughter of Princess Marie of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, whose mother, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia, was the daughter of Emperor Pavel I.
Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden, is a maternal grandmother of Queen Margrethe and the paternal grandmother of King Carl-Gustav of Sweden. That is how these jewels found their way to Queen Margrethe.

Princess Isabella became like Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine Knight of the Order of the Order of the Throne on January 14, 2024. This is because the provisions of the Order of the Order of the Order stipulate that the sons of the Order (regent) – today also daughters – are born members of the order. After practice, however, you will only receive the orderly insignia at your 18th birthday. H.K.H. The Crown Prince became an elephant knight at his 18th birthday on October 15, 2023. The Order of the Elephant is the oldest and most distinguished Danish knighthood and has its roots dating back to the 1400s. The order is given mainly to royal and heads of state. Since 1693, when the Elephant Order got its statutes (defaults), the insignia of the order has consisted of the tower-bearing elephant made of gold covered with white enamel and studded with diamonds, the order chain with towers and elephants, a light blue sash and a breast star. The elephant captain and the tower on the elephant's back characterize the elephant as a war elephant, which as a symbol can be traced back to the classic antiquity and has since also been interpreted as a symbol of Christian virtues. The elephant order is born as a starting point in the sash, but on certain feast days, including 1 January at the New Year's tablecloth, the Elephant Order is carried in the characteristic chain. The elephant order assigned to Princess Isabella has undergone a minor restoration for the occasion, where it has, among other things, had HM painted. The king's monogram, as an elephant order at the award always carries the incumbent's monogram. As an elephant knight, Princess Isabella must have painted her personal coat of arms, which after completion will be hung in the Great Chapel at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød.
