1899 MARRIAGE OF MARQUIS OF TULLIBARDINE. A BRILLIANT GATHERING.

There was a very large and fashionable assembly yesterday afternoon the Speaker's Church, St Margaret's, Westminster, London, to witness very pretty and important wedding the Marquis of Tullibardine John George Stewart Murray of Royal Horse Guards, eldest son of the Duke and Duchess of Blair Castle, Perthshire, and grandson of the late Sir Thomas Moncreiffe, Bart, of Monoreiffe House, Perthshire, and Miss Marjorie Ramsay, daughter of Sir James Henry 10th Baronet of Bamff, Perthshire.

The church was handsomely decorated. Ihe service was fully choral, the arrangements at the church being made by famed organist St Margaret's, were the highest order, and conducted without a single hitch. The bride was met at the entrance to St Margaret's by Sqvadron Sergeant-Major M. Dye, who, in a. few well-ohosen remarks, presented her, the name of Marquis of Tullibardine's troop, with splendid bridal bouquet of white roses, orchids, gardenias, in foliage in silver vase tied with the regimental colours of the Royal Horse Guards, which Miss Ramsay waa pleased to accept, and feelingly thanked the troop for their welcome and very good wishes.

Tho nuptial ceremony waa very impressively conducted by the Master of Trinity (brother-inlaw of the bride), the Rev. D. Montagu Butler, D.D., assisted by the Venerable Arahdeaoon A. S. Aglen, M.A., rector Alyth, Perthshire, and tho Rev. A. V. Baillie, M.A., rector of Rugby.

The bride was arcompanied by her father, Sir James Ramsay, who during the singing of the hymn " 0 God, our help in ages past," conducted her to the chancel entrance, and there in good time gave her away. The entrance church was lined with noncommissioned officers and men of the bridegroom's troop of Royal Horse Guards, and the entrance to the chanoel was held by a bodyguard of Atholl Highlanders—a sight seldom witnessed in West End churches.

A bevy of fewer than eight bridesmaids awaited the arrival of the bride the entrance St Margaret's Church. Theso young ladies were Lady Helen Stewart Murray (sister of the bridegroom), Miss F. Ramsay, Miss Alma Mary Ramsay (sisters of tho bride), Miss Gertrude Murray, Miss Drummond Forbes (cousin of the bridegroom), Miss Penn, Miss Antrobus, Mies Ruth Balfour (daughter of the right Hon. Gerald and Ladv Betty Balfour), who wore very pretty gowns of white satin with veiled ecru laoe, and skirta arrangad with narrow ruohings white satin round edge and down fronts, and bodice fichu-like arrangements of the same lace, elbow sleeve being edged with white chiffon. Their sashes were bright turquoise silk ribbon, fastened with diamond at the baok.
Their hats were of Tuscan straw, with trimming of blue turquoise tulle and sprays of pale pink roses in foliage. The presents from tho Marquis Tullibardine to them mementoes of the happy occasion were unique bar gold brooches with initials K. andT. in turquoise blue enamel, surrounding the Murray star in white enamel and diamonds. Hiere were also two smart pages picturesquely costumed in Court dresses of turquoise blue and white satin and hats suite. These young gentlemen were Masters Gordon and Nevile'Butler (nephews of the bride and sons the Master Trinity)..

 

Miss Ramsay looked remarkably well in wedding robe of pure white Satin, trimmed with white silver sequinned net and massive mother of pearl and silver passementerie. The train of white chiffon was flounced, and the body trimmed with old Brussels lace and sleeves of satine. A knot of orange blossoms fastened the lace on one Bide of the yoke. Her fine veil of tulle covered a tiara of orange blossoms. Her ornaments were a necklace of pearls with diamond clasp, and she carried the presentation bouquet from the troop of the Marquis of Tiillibardine's regiment.

Early the afternoon the Marquise and Marchioness of Tullibardine left en route for Holland, where the early days their honeymoon will be spent. The going-away gown was of pink foulard, with small white floral design ana bands of cream guipure down the sides and round the skirt. The waistcoat was covered with rows of narrow black velvet over pink silk, and vest white chiffon over bodice with a piecement of softly tinted old lace the top the vest, and a black picture hat, trimmed with black feathers and pink rose B, tied with black strings.

from the bridegroom to the bride, a diamond and peridot tiara,

The presents to the Marquis Tullibardine, which numbered over 300

ATHOLL connection with the marriage of the Marquis of Tullibardine, gathering of the household, servants, and outdoor workers took place about two o'clock yesterday afternoon at Blair Castle. A salute of 18 guns was fired The Health of Sir James and Lady Ramsay of Ramff." It was their desire that they should become better acquainted with the noble family of Bamff. They knew that Sir James took a lively interest in county affairs, but they knew him as the father of the lady who was worthy to become the Duchess of Atholl, and who was now the Marchioness of Tullibardine. In honour of the marriage of the Marquis of Tullibardine to Miss Catherine Ramsay of Bamff a bonfire was lit last night on Whiteside Hill, Alyth. The Bamff estate servants, after the health of the newly-wedded pair had been pledged, held ball in the grainery.
