Prinzessin Kira war die Tochter des Großfürsten Kyrill Wladimirowitsch Romanow (1876-1938) und dessen Ehefrau Prinzessin Victoria Melita von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha (1876-1936), der Tochter des Herzogs Alfred Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha und dessen Gattin Großfürstin Maria Alexandrowna Romanowa.
Am 4. Mai 1938 heiratete Kira in Potsdam Louis Ferdinand von Preußen (1907-1994), Sohn des früheren Kronprinzen Wilhelm von Preußen und seiner Gemahlin Cecilie von Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

Das Saphir Collier war bis in die 1980er Jahren noch in der Familie und wurde einmal auch öffentlich, ausgestellt. Nach dem Tod von Prinz Louis Ferdinand, ist der Verbleib unbekannt.
Princess Kira was the daughter of Grand Duke Cyril Vladimirovich Romanov (1876-1938) and his wife Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1876-1936), the daughter of Duke Alfred Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and his wife Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna Romanova.
On 4 May 1938, Kira married Louis Ferdinand of Prussia (1907-1994), son of the former Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia and his wife Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, in Potsdam.
In the picture above, Princess Kira with the Saphir Diamond Necklace on the occasion of an event at Hohenzollern Castle in Hechingen.
The sapphire necklace was still in the family until the 1980s and was once on public display. After the death of Prince Louis Ferdinand, its whereabouts are unknown.
