Diese üppige
Corsagen-Brosche, ein Schmuck mit Diamanten und Perlen stammt ursprünglich
aus dem Besitz der griechischen Königin Olga. Königin Olga
war eine geborene Olga Konstantinowna Romanowa, Großfürstin
von Rußland.
Olga war
die Tochter von Großfürst Konstantin Nikolajewitsch Romanow,
einem Bruder von Zar Alexander II., und Alexandra Jossifowna, einer
Tochter des Herzogs Joseph von Sachsen-Altenburg., eine DER grossen
Juwelen-Sammlerinnen der Romanov Familie.
Alexandr Jossifowna, hat ihre Tochter bestimmt mit feinsten Schmuckstücken
zur Hochzeit ausgestattet. Dazu gehört der Smaragdschmuck
und der Rubinschmuck der heute noch von der griechischen Ex-Königin
Anne-Marie getragen wird und seinen Ursprung in der Mitgift Olgas hat.
Die Festoon Corsagen-Brosche
ist mit 12 barocken Tropfenperlen in unterschiedlicher Größe
bestückt, die an einer doppelten Diamantgirlande beweglich befestigt
sind. 3 weitere natürliche Perlen sind im Mittelteil angeordnet.
Die Kappen der Perlentropfen, die Zwischenteile, die Ornamente und Blättchen
sind grosszügig mit unterschiedlich grossen Diamanten in Kissenform
und Brillanten ausgefasst. An der Spitze ist zusätzlich ein kissenförmiger
Diamant mit diamantbesetzten Blättchen eingefasst, wie auch in
den zentralen Punkten oberhalb einer 3er Variation von Perlentropfen.
Die Fassart
der Diamanten, ist eine für Bolin, dem Hofjuwelier des Zaren typischen
Art ausgeführt. Eine Seite der Fassungslinie besteht aus Metall
die andere ist offen mit krappengefassten Diamanten und leicht geneigt,
dies ergibt einen schöne optischen Verlauf und die Diamanten sind
optisch nicht hart abgesetzt.
Die Königin
trägt als Kopfschmuck einen großen fünfzackigen Stern
mit einem großen Mittelstein aus einem Diamant, diese Art von
Schmuck liebte auch Ihre Schwiegertochter, Prinzessin
Marie Bonaparte - der sie die Diamant-Corsage weitergegeben hat,
es ist nicht bekannt, ob sie dies als Hochzeitsgeschenk erhielt oder
aus dem Nachlass.
Das Schmuckstück wird von Sothebys im Mai 2010, in Genf zur Versteigerung
aufgerufen.

Olga Queen of the Hellenes, had owned this foliate pearl
and diamond stomacher. These piece formerly belonged to
Princess Marie Bonaparte-
also known as Princess George of Greece and Denmark and Princess Eugenie
of Greece and Denmark. The noble jewels will auction by Sothebys in
Geneve at May 2010(estimated at $40,000-60,000).
This lavish festoon stomacher, a piece of jewelery with diamonds and pearls, originally belonged to the Greek Queen Olga. Queen Olga was nee Olga Konstantinovna Romanova, Grand Duchess of Russia.
Olga was the daughter of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich Romanov, a brother of Tsar Alexander II, and Alexandra Yosifovna, a daughter of Duke Joseph of Saxe-Altenburg. One of THE great jewel collectors of the Romanov family.
Alexandra Yosifovna, certainly equipped her daughter with the finest pieces of jewelry for her wedding. This includes the emerald jewelery and the ruby jewelery that is still worn today by the Greek ex-queen Anne-Marie and has its origins in Olga's dowry.
The corsage brooch is fitted with 12 baroque teardrop pearls of different sizes, which are flexibly attached to a double diamond garland. 3 more natural pearls are arranged in the middle part. The caps of the pearl drops, the intermediate parts, the ornaments and leaves are generously set with cushion-shaped diamonds of different sizes and brilliants. At the top, a cushion-shaped diamond is additionally set with diamond-set leaves, as well as in the central points above a 3-variation of pearl drops.
The diamonds are set in a manner typical of Bolin, the court jeweler of the Tsar. One side of the setting line is metal the other is open with prong set diamonds and is slightly sloping, this gives a nice visual gradient and the diamonds are not visually set off hard.
The diamond star which Olga Konstantinova Queen of Greece wore above, is part of a set of three diamond stars. Queen Olga wore it also in the time of 1903-4.
I don't think it's one of the "5points diamond stars", which Marina Duchess of Kent, was given in the time of her marriage. Queen Olga's diamond stars are more compact, not with long fringes.
