Maharaja of Patiala Diamond Choker Necklace and the large diamond necklace, it was the largest single order ever placed with Cartier by the Maharaja of Patiala in 1925..Maharaja of Patiala was forced to surrender it to the Indian Government after the partition of India. Of course it was then from the Government treasury and dismantled. Cartier bought the chains without the stones back through auction and managed to restore the necklace, with cubic zirconia and synthetic diamonds as replacements.
