It is an heirloom inherited from the maternal grandmother of the bride, Archduchess Robert d’Autriche Este, née Princess Marguerita of Savoy Aosta.
It was created for her mother, Princess Anne of France, wife of the third duke of Aosta with elements inherited from her mother in law, another Princess of France, Helene, wife of the second duke of Aosta. It belongs to the bridés oncle Lorenz, current Archduke of Autriche-Este.
