King George VI also bought a matching brooch in rubies for Princess Margaret

The brooch given to Queen Elizabeth II was set with sapphire and the brooch given to Princess Margaret was set with rubies. Each of the girls later received a second matching brooch. Princess Margaret wore the gifts often in the first few years after they were received but they later fell out of favor for larger more glittering pieces.
