Cambridge Sapphires | Royal Jewels of Princess Augusta Caroline parure of tiara, necklace, stomacher, earrings and two bracelets
from Queen Victoria’s dairy…I wore a dress & train of lilac & silver brocade, a Diadem of my diamond fringes & feathers.
Augusta, led by her Father & the King of Hanover, & followed by her 4 young Bridesmaids. She really looked very handsome in her veil of Brussels lace, her wreath of orange flowers & myrtle & a little diadem at the back of this. Her dress & train were of white & silver brocade, the skirt of the dress being trimmed with 3 deep flounces, of Brussels lace. She was calm & dignified throughout, but her voice was very inaudible when she made her responses. The ceremony was very fine & impressive, & as Albert remarked, good for all married people to hear. After all was over Augusta came up to kiss me & shake hands with Albert. Then the Bridal Procession passed out of the church.
