Maison Cartier is a luxury French jewelry and watchmaking house founded in 1847 by Louis-Francois Cartier. Over the years, the brand has become known for its exquisite craftsmanship and iconic designs, and has created some of the most significant historic jewels of the 20th century.

One of the most famous historic jewels created by Maison Cartier is the „Hope Diamond,“ a 45.52-carat blue diamond that was originally mined in India. In 1910, the diamond was purchased by Cartier and was later sold to American socialite Evalyn Walsh McLean. The diamond remained in her family until 1958 when it was sold to Harry Winston, and eventually ended up at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.,

Another notable historic jewel created by Maison Cartier is the „Tutti Frutti“ bracelet, which was designed in the 1920s and featured a combination of colored gemstones in a unique, Art Deco-inspired style. The bracelet was a favorite of many wealthy clients, including Daisy Fellowes, the granddaughter of the founder of the Singer Sewing Machine Company.

Maison Cartier also created several tiaras and other pieces of jewelry for royal families around the world. One such piece is the „Halo Tiara,“ which was created for the coronation of King George VI’s wife, Queen Elizabeth, in 1937. The tiara features 739 brilliant-cut diamonds set in platinum. In addition to its historic jewels, Maison Cartier continues to create new and innovative designs to this day. The brand has remained a symbol of luxury and refinement for over 170 years and continues to be a favorite among celebrities and high-profile clients. mughal jewels,

Turquoise Cross Tiara | Queen Marie of Romania | Turquoise Diadem | Crown Royal Jewels

Turquoise is a captivating gemstone that has been used for centuries in jewelry making, and its beauty has not diminished over time.

Queen Marie of Romania was no stranger to its allure, as she treasured her old set of turquoise jewelry and even had it modified into a grander and more elegant piece.

The new turquoise crown, which was gifted to her by her husband, Nando, was designed to be a larger and more prominent accessory that could better complement her regal style. Its intricate design features a diadem of seven crosses with a stunning centerpiece made from a cluster of large turquoise gems from her old necklace. The base of the coronet is adorned with Greek key ornaments and round turquoise gems, adding a touch of sophistication to the piece.

Kreuter & Co, Hanau, was the skilledjewel workshop who crafted this masterpiece, which also doubles as seven single brooches. The earrings were also redesigned to match the grandeur of the new turquoise crown, with a quadratically framed diamond setting that complements the stunning turquoise gems.

Queen Marie of Romania’s love for the turquoise gems was evident, and the modification of her old set of jewelry into this grander piece showcases her appreciation for the beauty and versatility of the gemstone. The new turquoise crown is truly a remarkable piece of jewelry that embodies the grandeur of royalty and the timeless elegance of turquoise.

Cartier Diamond Sunburst Tiara |Countess Suffolk|Dollarprincess Daisy Leiter| England Aristocratic Noble Jewel History

Cartier Diamond Sun Tiara |Countess Suffolk|Dollarprincess Daisy Leiter| England Aristocratic Noble Jewel History Dec. .26. — Miss Marguerite Hdye Leiter, popularly known as "Daisy," the youngest and only unmarried daughter of the late Levi Z. Leiter, was married to-day at noon to Henry Mollneaux Page Howard, nineteenth Earl of Suffolk and Berkshire. Miss Leiter is the third daughter'of the house to contract a marriage with a noble family of England. Her eldest sister, who was Miss Mary, married Lord Curzon, Viceroy of India. Her other sister, Miss Nancy, married Major Colin Campbell, a cousin of the Duke of Argyle, on November 29 last. While to-day's wedding was extremely quiet, it lacked none of the glamour of music, lights and flowers. The stately drawing-room, library and dining-room of the Leiter mansion were fragrant with delicate white blossoms, which were banked against a background of smilax and palms, while the suggestion of the Christmas season was given by the holly and brilliant poinsettia that adorned the din-ing-room. ■ *

While the strains of a string orchestra sounded sweetly through the house, the silken rustle of the bridal gown proclaimed the approach of the bride. Long known as one of the beauties of the capital, Miss Leiter never looked lovelier than to-day in her soft clinging gown of Libertin satin, veiled with exquisite point de Venice lace, over which fell her tulle veil, held In place by a tiara of diamonds. This tiara is one of the handsomest jewels of a rare collection of family heirlooms, which the Earl presented to his bride. A long rope of pearls, the favourite Jewel of the bride and which was the gift of her mother, was worn around her throat. She carried a graceful loose cluster of white orchids and roses.

Escorted by her brother, Joseph Leiter. she approached the window recess where the Earl and his best man, Lionel Guest, a son of Lord Winborn of England, awaited her. The Rev. Dr. Roland Cotton Smith, rector of St. John's Church, which the family attends, performed the ceremony according to the Episcopal ritual.

Mrs. Leiter. Mrs. Colin Campbell, Lady Nina Howard, a sister of the Earl, .who has been with him since his arrival in this country, were the only other persons to witness the ceremony.

After the ceremony the party, repaired to the dining-room, where a wedding breakfast was served. The Earl and Countess of Suffolk left Washington late in the afternoon for New York and will sail on Wednesday for England, probably having for their companions Major and Mrs. Campbell. The Earl will take his bride to Charlton Park, his country seat, at Malmesbury, in Wiltshire. It is said to comprise 10,000 acres and Is rich in Historical memories. the Diadem Soleil made by Cartier in 1907 . now in the Al Thani Collection
