she wore the altered Diamond Tiara from Archduchess Maria Immaculata Raineria of Austria.
Once a wedding gift the her, made by Köchert.

In 1900 the tiara was made for her imperial trousseau, it could be setted with turquoises or opals, as well as pearls and added with diamonds –

instead of the gems.

The imperial marriage present was given to the Archduchess Maria Raineria Immaculata when she weds Robert Duke of Wuerttemberg.
The couple has no children so she left the tiara to the Dukes of Wurtemberg more about the history>>

When I prepared the two magazin side, about Archduchess Maria Immaculata Rainera, Duchess of Württemberg in 2009 – I missed a clear picture of the details of the nice tiara. Now we had a wonderful closeup.

Die Braut trug zur Brautsoiree Diamant Sterne im Haar – eingesteckt in die üppige Frisur, wie ihre Vorfahrin Kaiserin Elisabeth von Österreich auf dem berühmten Winterhalter Bild.
Ist eine Diamant Sternen Garnitur im Besitz der Mutter der Braut oder der Familie, Maria Beatrice Erzherzogin von Österreich-Este.

When Prince Arthur, son of Queen Victoria, Duke of Connaught saw the original portrait of his bride, in November 1878 he wrote to Queen Victoria to describe it:
‘It is really lovely, so like and yet so pretty and natural – She is taken three quarters face in a low gown of a creamy colour, her hair quite plain, my locket round her neck on a thin gold chain(probably his engagement gift), and that ruby and diamond star left her by her Grandmama* on her breast…

Which grandmother of Princess Luise Margarethe of Prussia, Duchess of Connaught, left her the large star brooch with ruby?

Nachdem sich der Sohn von Königin Victoria Prinz Arthur mit Prinzessin Louise Margarete von Preußen verlobte, der Künstler Heinrich Angeli, um ein Porträt ihrer neuen Schwiegertochter für ihr zukünftiges Zuhause Bagshot Park zu kreieren. Das Gemälde wurde später vom Künstler Robert Müller für die Königin selbst kopiert (Foto 2). Die Royal Collection reproduziert einen Brief, den der Herzog von Connaught an Königin Victoria geschrieben hat, in dem der Schmuck in dem Porträt beschrieben wurde, der speziell erwähnt wurde: "& dieser Rubin- und Diamantstern hat sie " Ihre Großmutter war Prinzessin Karl von Preußen, Tochter der Großherzogin Maria Pavlowna von Russland, Großherzogin von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach. Ich frage mich, ob diese Brosche ursprünglich ein Romanov-Juwel gewesen sein könnte?

Presseberichte zum Zeitpunkt der Hochzeit des Herzogs und der Herzogin von Connaught beschreiben die Brosche als Geschenk ihres Großvaters Prinz Karl von Preußen, beschreiben den Stein aber fälschlicherweise als Saphir. Ich denke, man kann mit Sicherheit sagen, dass dies einfach ein Fehler war, dank des Briefes des Herzogs von Connaught an Königin Victoria und dem Gemälde, das deutlich einen Rubin zeigt. — Imperial Royal Jewelry | Duchess of Connaught

The jewels of Leuchtenberg, were remodeled, then for their daughter, Princess Mathilde of Urach, Countess of Wuerttemberg by the Parisians Jeweler, as a dowry of her mother.
The jeweler was commissioned by her father’s second wife – Princess Florestine of Monaco …. more about this jewelery and the history of Duchess Altieri.
